专家介绍 Dr. Xianbin Yu is a research professor in the College of Information Science and Electronic Engineering at Zhejiang University. He received his PhD degree in 2005 from Zhejiang University in China. From 2005 to 2007, he was a postdoctoral research fellow in Tsinghua University, China. Since 2007 until 2016, he was employed at DTU Fotonik of Technical University of Denmark in Denmark, where he became an assistant professor in 2009 and was promoted to be a tenured Senior Researcher in 2013. In 2016, he joined Zhejiang University as a research professor. His research interests are in the areas of ultrafast millimeter-wave/THz photonic information processing, ultrahigh frequency photonic wireless communication systems, as well as emerging new applications of millimeter-wave/THz technologies, etc.

He has given 20+ invited talks in prestigious international conferences within the area of optical communications and RF photonics technologies, and has (co-)authored 2 book chapters and 150+ peer reviewed international journal and conference papers. He served as a session chair/TPC member for a number of international conference. He held a Marie Curie Fellowship within the 7th European Community Framework Program and a Hans Christian ?rsteds Fellowship in Denmark.

 

报告内容 In this lecture, he will overview the potential applications of THz technologies, with a special focus on ultrafast THz photonic wireless communication. Recent trends in developing high speed THz wireless communication systems by exploring large bandwidth available in the THz band motivates the researchers over the world, and rapid progress has been made in this area. He will also present their recent excellent achievements on extremely high data rate wireless transmission in the 300-500GHz enabled by THz photonics, from 60 Gbit/s, to 160 Gbit/s, and most recently 260 Gbit/s.
